Awesome Icelandic Clouds

I wonder if the views I found so spectacular in Iceland are so spectacular to an Icelandic resident who grew up there, or is it just that it’s so different to where I am from that makes Iceland so unique to me? I wonder if I will ever truly know the answer to this question, and in fact if it actually matters?
Icelandic Clouds
I just found myself stopping so frequently to gaze at scenes I would see out of the car window, I started to wonder if anyone else was seeing what I was seeing too, or was it some kind of hysterical hallucination brought on by the cold or the change of air… I’m sure I could see Icelandic folk staring at me out of the car window as they drove by with a look of bafflement on their face, as if to say, “why has this crazy tourist stopped now?”
Well, awesome Icelandic clouds of course! The type of clouds I never see back home, big spectacularly shaped clouds, clouds that look like space ships or huge smoke rings, clouds that looked like something out of Middle Earth and Lord of the Rings. Did Tolkien ever visit Iceland? I reckon he must have.
Both Images shot on the Hasselblad H4D-60 and the 28mm & 100mm lens respectively.
