After having it on my “Must Visit” list for years I finally spent 6 weeks travelling around in Tasmania in January/February this year. On the one hand it was worth the wait, but on the other I kept thinking “Why did I wait so long?” Tasmania is absolutely incredible, actually that is understating it…

I have been having conversations with my friend Paul Hoelen (who lives in Tasmania) for a couple of years now about us running a worksop or tour there, especially in the little visited Tarkine wilderness region in the North West. The sticking point was that I hadn’t been there, so didn’t really know what I would be promoting. Paul has lived and photographed in Tasmania for years, and he has even spent a couple of years being a wilderness trekking guide, so he knows Tasmania intimately. It still didn’t feel right that I had not visited…

Now those barriers are gone and Paul and I are running a wilderness photography tour in the North West of Tasmania in March/April of 2018. All the details are not quite finalised yet but you can read about the tour so far HERE>> or if you would like to be emailed when all is set you can contact me on tours@adammonk.com
Both of these images were taken with a Cambo WRS-400 Technical camera with the Phase One IQ3-100 digital back and a selection of Rodenstock and Schneider Kreuznach lenses (There will be a post about this soon too), in Tasmania of course.
